More waiting and a little stretching.

More waiting and a little stretching.

I got to work with the ballet on one of the ads. Here they are patiently waiting while I try and figure out what to do with them.I finally realized I didn’t have to since they were the experts and could tell me what they should be doing. Duh!

I met Jonathan while scouting in Deltaville last week. He’s a fifth generation waterman and along with his dad runs this crab boat. We ended up using the boat along with Jonathan and his dad in the ad.
We’ve been shooting the ads along with a film crew who are doing the commercials. The client, agency and crew have worked together for several years so it’s a little more like a big family reunion than a commercial shoot. I’m the new guy and they’ve gone out of their way to make me feel part of the group, so it’s been a real treat for me. The bonus is I’ve got an entire film crew and a couple trucks full of lights to play with. It’s going to be tough going back to just a couple of assistants.

I’ve been scouting locations for some ads this week, along with the film crew who are doing the tv spots. It’s been fun. They’re a pretty relaxed group and seem to go out of their way to accommodate my needs, which is not always the case. If I’ve learned one thing from working with them, it’s that film people eat a lot better than still photographers.

I finally have a shower. And only three and a half months.
