The Devil and His Wife Are Having Problems

sunshowers

On the way home yesterday I ran into a sunshower. It’s a little hard to see in a small photo, but trust me, it’s raining pretty hard. When I was a kid and it rained when the sun was shining, my mother would tell me the devil was beating his wife. I’m not sure that’s such a good thing for a kid to associate with something as pretty as a sunshower.  In the lower Carribean they say the devil and his wife are fighting for a bone. At least they had a reason to quarrel and there’s no spousel abuse involved. Now, in Tennessee, they say the devil is kissing his wife. Much better image.

Allen & Billy

These are the guys doing the majority of the bedroom/bathroom renovation. Philip and Jeff are the contractors and Allen (on the left) and Billy (on the right) are the carpenters, tile layers and general “we can do it all” guys. For some reason, which they haven’t revealed, they call each other Lloyd. Sort of like an old married couple who develop pet names for each other. I have two friends who call each other George and Marge, even though that’s nowhere near their real names.

With all the renovation activity, a couple of jobs and a short vacation, I’ve been out of the blogging mood lately, but it’s time to climb back up on that horse, before it gets used to the pasture.
