First Snail of the Year

snow chair 1
Yesterday seemed like a good day for yardwork, overcast with the temperature in the mid 40s. There’s a big ol’ juniper bush that hides the well, that needed cutting back; so Mary and I decided to have at it. After a couple of hours she said she smelled snow and I said “no way” it’s not cold enough. About five minutes later, I was once again proven wrong. It was like a summer thunderstorm, a torrential downpour, only this time it wasn’t rain, but something that wasn’t quite snow and not quite hail…snail.

About an hour later…back in the 40s. Strange weather day.

Bathroom Philosopher

radiator

There’s s a Matisse/Picasso exhibit at the University of Virginia Art Museum, so Saturday we rode to Charlottesville to have lunch and check it out. But first things first, so when we got there I stopped by the museum’s men’s room and found this bit of philosophy on the radiator. Less is more…always a good thing to remember. I’d like to think that the bathroom philosopher intended it that way and wasn’t just screwin’ with the janitor.
