killing field

bankdog

I spotted this curious mutt waiting in the drive-thru at the bank. I’m not sure what caught his attention, but whatever it was , he looked like he either wanted to eat it or hump it.

We spent a few days on the Outer Banks of North Carolina a couple of weeks ago. The weather had been miserable until the day we arrived and for the next two days it was beautiful. Then on our last day a front started to roll in and the weather turned miserable again for the next week. Someone was smiling on us. This was the begining of the front. Mary had gone for a walk and I sat on the deck, read a book and took pictures.

cross
We walked to Ground Zero Saturday. Just before you get there you pass this cross formed from I beems of the World Trade Center. It’s next to St. Peters church until a permanent memorial is built. If you ever forget what happened on September 11, 2001, take a trip to New York.
