Bobo and Polly

I went to a party in DC last night that our friend Polly gave for another friend, Bobo. He’s been trying to live down the moniker “Bobo” for a while, so out of respect for his senority, I’ll just refer to him as Bob from now on. Bob is the senior photographer for Reuters in Stockholm. Actually, he’s the only photographer for Reuters in Stockholm. He just finished a second tour in Baghdad and was back in the US for some R & R. We all used to party a fair amount years ago and things haven’t changed much. I guess you know people are good friends when you can just pick up where you left off.

frost ib window

Coldest morning of the year so far, 11 degrees. Not too bad considering it was -4, with a windchill of -23, last night in Greenbay. It amazes me to see half the players in short sleeve jerseys. I wonder if it’s to keep from getting grabbed or just to say, “I’m a bigger badass than you”.

Not much to say about this. Just a lightpole and the remnants of another day.

cattails

Another photo from my walk to town yesterday. These cattails grow along the edge of a farm pond on the dairy road and catch the late afternoon light.

Boo Radley House

Boo Radley House

I dropped my pickup off to be inspected last week and they called today to say it was ready. Rather than trying to snag a ride to town, I decided to walk the 4-5 miles and skip the Y. I pass this house almost everyday. I call it the Boo Radley house. Every summer I reread “To Kill a Mockingbird”, the best summer novel ever written, maybe one of the best any season novels ever written. This is what Boo Radley’s house must have looked like. I’m not sure if anyone actually lives here. There are signs someone does, but then again there are signs that noone lives in it. Very mysterious. Just like Boo Radley’s house.
